Neudive Selected for Ministry of Health and Welfare's 'Digital Healthcare' Validation Project

The Ministry of Health and Welfare announced on the 21st that it will support 31 projects selected for the 'Hospital-Based Digital Healthcare Validation and Adoption (R&D)' initiative through 2025, with the aim of accumulating empirical data needed for evidence-based digital healthcare utilization.
Through this initiative, the Ministry plans to support multi-institutional clinical validation so that digital healthcare products with high technological maturity can be utilized in medical services based on the actual needs of medical institutions. The Korea Health Industry Development Institute (KHIDI), the Ministry's dedicated R&D agency, will pursue performance outcomes and dissemination through project management and evaluation. The initiative is broadly composed of three areas: △ Technologies for activating non-face-to-face medical services △ Innovative digital healthcare technologies △ Home-hospital implementation technologies, with a total of 135 medical institutions and companies expected to participate as lead, collaborative, and validation partners.
In the innovative digital healthcare technology sector, which aims to support multi-institutional clinical validation of software-based medical devices (SaMD) such as AI diagnostic assistance solutions and digital therapeutics, nine projects will be supported, including: △ Multi-institutional validation study to verify the effectiveness of incidental coronary artery calcification reporting in chest CT (Coreline Soft) △ Multi-institutional clinical adoption and validation project for smartphone-based ECG analysis software (RP) △ Development of a digital therapeutic device for children and adolescents with social deficits (Neudive) △ Multi-institutional clinical validation and real-world evidence (RWE) acquisition for health insurance listing of an insomnia digital therapeutic (Welt).
Seong-ho Eun, Director of Advanced Medical Care Support at the Ministry of Health and Welfare, stated: "Through multi-institutional validation support that reflects the actual needs of medical institutions, we expect to enhance the sense of efficacy of digital healthcare utilization across medical services, and to improve the competitiveness of the digital healthcare industry by securing a virtuous cycle of new technology development and quality innovation."
