Neudive Presents Case Study at International Relay Seminar on New Health Technology Assessment for Digital Therapeutics, Hosted by the National Evidence-based Healthcare Collaborating Agency

The New Health Technology Assessment Division of the National Evidence-based Healthcare Collaborating Agency (NECA, Acting President Pil-sang Heo) announced that it will be hosting a relay seminar to strengthen international exchange in the field of digital therapeutics (DTx), sharing successful strategies for health technology assessment and market entry from Germany's DiGA and the UK's NHS/NICE with the domestic industry.


In June, NECA held meetings with the Digital Therapeutics Alliance (DTA) and the UK's National Health Service (NHS) to discuss the ongoing exchange of information on each country's health technology assessment systems and market entry strategies.


As the first step in international exchange, NECA will host an international relay seminar on digital therapeutics (DTx), consisting of a total of five sessions — one featuring a domestic speaker and four featuring overseas speakers.


The first seminar, inviting domestic industry experts, will be held at COEX on the 20th, on the topics of successful domestic digital therapeutics development cases and market entry strategies including clinical trials.


Presenters include Jin-hwan Lim, CEO of AiMmed, and Sung-ji Kang, CEO of Welt, who will speak on successful digital therapeutics development cases and domestic and international market entry strategies. Following them, Sung-ja Cho, CEO of Neudive, and Yu-heon Noh, CEO of Emocog, will present on development cases of digital therapeutics currently under development at their respective companies and market entry strategies including clinical evidence generation.


The subsequent international seminars featuring overseas speakers, scheduled for August, will be held online and will invite global digital therapeutics experts, including John Gordon of Pfizer — formerly of the UK's NHS — and the CEO of HelloBetter, a company specializing in neuropsychiatric digital therapeutics that is officially listed on Germany's DiGA.


The overseas seminars will cover topics such as European listing cases for digital therapeutics, real-world experience in clinical evidence generation, and the outlook for future clinical evidence generation following the introduction of Europe's new Medical Device Regulation (MDR).


Priority participation in this relay seminar will be given to companies selected for the New Health Technology Assessment guidance service, which aims to support innovative growth in healthcare technology. However, those interested in new health technology assessment systems and market entry strategies for domestic and international digital therapeutics are also welcome to participate.

Detailed schedules for the subsequent overseas speaker web seminar in August will be announced later through the NECA and New Health Technology Assessment Division websites.


Sang-yun Oh, Director of the Medical Resource Policy Division at the Ministry of Health and Welfare, stated: "The government is focused on fostering the digital healthcare sector and laying the groundwork for the leap forward of the promising domestic medical device industry. In line with this direction, we expect NECA to play a role in supporting domestic companies' global expansion by generating the evidence required by global markets through continued international cooperation."


Acting President Pil-sang Heo stated: "Internationally, there is growing interest in health technology assessment for DTx and strategies for health insurance listing through clinical evidence generation. As an internationally credible health technology assessment body, NECA will serve as a supporter for companies aiming to enter overseas markets by actively promoting international exchange on new health technology assessment."
