Korea Brain Research Institute and Neudive Obtain Korea's First 'New Health Technology (NET)' Certification for Autism Spectrum Disorder Digital Therapeutic Technology

The Korea Brain Research Institute announced on the 17th that the 'Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) Digital Medical Device,' jointly developed by Dr. Min-young Jung of the Cognitive Science Research Group and digital healthcare startup Neudive, has obtained the 'New Excellent Technology (NET)' certification designated by the Ministry of Health and Welfare.


Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is a neurodevelopmental disorder characterized by difficulties in social interaction and communication, and restricted and repetitive behavioral patterns. With a prevalence as high as 1 in every 31 children, it is extremely common, yet specialized treatment infrastructure is concentrated in major cities and long waiting periods mean that many patients miss the appropriate window for treatment.


The digital therapeutic technology that received this New Health Technology (NET) certification addresses these limitations by providing 'digital cognitive behavioral therapy technology through social situational awareness and interaction analysis.' It is drawing attention for its potential to ease the time and spatial constraints of in-person treatment and serve as a practical alternative for patients in areas with limited healthcare access or those facing long waiting periods.
